Farloe Black* out of the 3 trap impressively winning round 4 of the 2007 Irish Derby, soundly beating eventual Irish Derby Champ Tyrur Rhino.

Farloe Black* is the fastest Greyhound imported into the U.S. for stud duty in many years. He won the 2007 Irish Derby Consolation. He was dominating in the qualifying rounds, but was knocked out in the semi-final. In the Consolation he ran a faster time than the Derby final a few races later. He set two 5/16ths track records at Lifford, eventually lowering his own record to 29.39. He also made two other Group 1 finals; the National Puppy Stake at Shelbourne Park and the Northwest Derby at Lifford. He was one of the favorites to win the 2008 English Derby at Wimbledon, but pulled a gracillus muscle in the first round and was withdrawn.

His breeding is very unconventional being by Hondo Black* (previously known as PA's Hondo Black) out of Farloe Signal. Hondo Black* won the 2002 Southland Sprint Derby and has become the top American import stud in Ireland since Sand Man*. EJ’s Douglas needs no introduction.

Farloe Black carries the great Top Honcho* as damsire, and Daleys Gold and Whisper Wishes should be familiar to many American breeders. Daleys Gold can be found in the pedigree of Minaki Zeke, among others, and Whisper Wishes is the sire of Wonderland and Raynham star Whisper Wit*, sire of Dalcash Vixen, granddam of Talenterdmrripley. Both were top-quality damsires and are exactly where you want to see them in a pedigree.

The Lemon Bid damline from which Farloe Signal descends has been on fire for the last few generations producing the likes of Droopys Merson, Geordie Parker, Skywalker Duke, Frisby Figo, Parliament Act, Lemon Ralph, Toblermorey Boy, Wright Signal, and of course, Farloe Black in just the last 10 years.

With a diverse multi-national pedigree Farloe Black* should be an interesting option for almost any American-bred female. EJ's Douglas has crossed especially well with Oswald Cobblepot lines (see the pedigrees of PA's Osirus, RA Blazer, Flying MacBeth, Dauntless, Coach Stanley, etc.) and we feel Farloe Black* will be an especially good option for females descending from Cobblepot, but should cross with anything except females with EJ’s Douglas up close.
